DIY Halloween Lava Lamp Activity

We are celebrating Halloween all month long! With a combination of holiday fun & exploration activities, we created DIY lava lamps with common household items. Our little ones went crazy for it & didn’t want it to end!

 Here’s what you’ll need:

• Clear cups or bottles 
• Black marker 
• Water
• Food coloring
• Vegetable oil
• Alka-Seltzer tabs 

 Step 1. Draw faces on your glasses/bottles. We drew a pumpkin, witch, & Frankenstein. 

Step 2: Fill glasses/bottles halfway with water & mix in food coloring. 

Step 3: Fill remaining space with oil of choice. 

Step 4: Drop in Alka-seltzer tabs & watch your little ones be amazed!
