Fall is finally here! – during this season of changing leafs, pumpkin spice lattes, and sweater weather there are lots of opportunities to enjoy some amazing family crafts with your little ones this time of year. One of my family’s favorite fall activities is to go apple picking at our local orchard. We brought our own basket and spent the day picking up the juiciest apples while teaching our kids the benefits of eating healthy and organic. Last year, we took how so many apples home we decided to get creative and cook up some apple crisp. Since we decided to make this activity tradition for years to come, we want to share it with all of you. Our recipe is easy, delicious, and perfect for Fall!

All you’ll need is

  • 4 organic apples,
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • ½ cup of oatmeal
  • ½ stick of melted butter
  • Cinnamon/sugar mix
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Optional: Cranberries, Nuts

Instructions:

Slice up your apple wedges and place them at the bottom of your pan . Then add the brown sugar and the oats, and coat the mixture with your melted butter. Sprinkle in your cinnamon/sugar mix (this is the time to add your optional ingredients!). Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. After you’ve let it cool for about 10 minutes, top it off with some vanilla ice cream on the side, and your dessert is ready to enjoy.
